LL Bean Window in Park City.
Retail collaboration to portray the local environment.
Park City LL Bean Retail Window
I was awarded the contract to design a piece of art for the new L.L. Bean store in Park City. The idea was to activate a corner of the store with an exciting landscape that got shoppers excited about spending time outdoors. Since L.L. Bean is dedicated to outfitting their customers with tough gear to explore nature with, this window speaks to that experience with the local Park City outdoor scene.
The scene features one of the iconic views of Park City as you enter in from the West - that of the historic McPolin Barn and McLeod Creek with both our ski resorts in the background. Set in the spring, when there is still skiing to be had in the mountains, but town is melting out and ready for hiking, biking and fishing, the painting evokes all the potential our city has to offer in terms of outdoor adventure.
The Park City L.L. Bean store opened in October, 2018 and is located on the corner of Heber & Main Street in historic downtown Park City. You can find this piece of art on the main story in the very back. This work was originally created as a watercolor, then scanned, enlarged, and printed on a window film to fit within the space. The artwork is not only engaging, but also serves as a functional block to eliminate the view out of the window, which just looks into a boring alleyway.
